We offer several different types of cabins so you can customize your accommodation. Whether you’re a group of fishing friends on a trip or you’re bringing the family, we have a solution.
Type A – Luxury and en suite
Our Type A cabins are for those who don’t want to compromise. Here you get your own shower and toilet, which is a huge advantage when you come home cold and salty from the beach. These cabins also have kitchen facilities so you can easily prepare packed lunches for the trip or maybe even cook the day’s catch for dinner. It’s the ultimate upgrade to the classic fish house.
Type B and C – The simple choice
If you’re more into the simple life, where it’s all about a good bed to sleep in, our Type B and C cabins are the way to go. They are more affordable and work perfectly as a sleeping base. Here you use the shared sanitary facilities on site. It’s an economical way to stay close to the good fishing spots, leaving more room in the budget for gear and experiences. Fishing on Hindsholm and in Kerteminde Fjord
Kerteminde Camping is the gateway to Hindsholm, considered by many to be the crown jewel of sea trout fishing in Funen. The geography here is unique. The many points, reefs and bays create perfect current conditions and feeding grounds for sea trout.
When you stay with us, you have easy access to legendary places like:
- Fyns Hoved: The northernmost tip of Funen. Known for strong currents and big fish. A must-visit for any serious angler.
- Gabet: The entrance to Odense Fjord, where the water exchange attracts many fish species.
- Kerteminde Fjord and Kertinge Nor: Ideal for fishing in the colder months or when the wind makes the coast impossible. The water is often calmer here.
- The Great Belt Coast: Right on your doorstep. The open coastline offers a varied bottom and good chances for whitefish.
It is precisely this variety that makes a “fishing cabin” with us so attractive. Whatever the wind direction, you can almost always find a spot on Hindsholm where there is shelter and fishable water within a short driving distance.
Seasons and species – What can you catch?
Although the sea trout is the king of Funen, the waters around Kerteminde offer much more.
Spring: Peak season for sea trout. They move into the shallows to hunt polychaetes and sandeels. In May, the garfish arrive in large shoals, which is fun for both children and adults. It’s action-packed fishing where everyone can join in.
Summer: Night fishing for sea trout is a classic. But also try fishing for flatfish such as flounder and dab from the beach. Mackerel also come close to shore in late summer and can be caught from the piers in Kerteminde or from the coast.
Autumn: Sea trout migrate back to the coasts and fjords to gorge themselves before spawning. This is often where the big “jumpers” are caught.
Winter: Fjords and freshwater outlets are hotspots. Kerteminde Fjord can be magical on a cold winter day.
Facilities that make life easier
When you’re not holding the pole, the practicalities just have to work. At Kerteminde Camping, we focus on making your stay as smooth as possible. Our reception is open from 09:00 to 17:00, where we are always ready to help with questions or practical information.
After a fire in 2025, we are in the process of rebuilding our facilities to be even better, but we will of course ensure that necessary features like showers and toilets are available during your stay. If you stay in a Type A cabin, as mentioned, you have your own facilities, giving you complete independence.
If you need to shop for your trip, the center of Kerteminde is only 1500 meters away. Here you’ll find supermarkets, specialty shops and tackle shops if you need the right lure color or a new line.
Take your dog fishing with you
For many anglers, the dog is a faithful companion by the water. That’s why we’re happy to say that Kerteminde Camping is an extremely dog-friendly campsite. Your four-legged friend is welcome in all our cabins.
There’s plenty of space to walk your dog in the scenic surroundings, as long as they are kept on a leash in the campsite and walked outside the area. It’s a great advantage not to have to find a sitter, but instead be able to share the nature experience with your dog. Please note that there is a small fee for bringing dogs into the cabins. Combine fishing with family fun
Are you the only one in the family who fishes? Then Kerteminde Camping is the perfect choice. While you chase your dream fish in the early hours of the morning, the rest of the family can sleep in and then enjoy the many activities the area has to offer.
We are located just 75 meters from Nordstranden, which is known for its fine sand and child-friendly conditions. Here the family can swim, build sandcastles or just enjoy the sun.
Plus, there’s plenty to do within walking distance:
- Visit the Fjord & Belt Center and get close to porpoises and seals.
- Visit the Johannes Larsen Museum and experience the art history of Funen.
- Play mini golf on the nearby course.
- Enjoy an ice cream at the harbor in Kerteminde, which buzzes with life in the summer.

Practical info and booking
We are open for the season from late March to mid-October (in 2026 specifically from 28/3 to 18/10), which covers the absolute best periods for coastal fishing.
Peace and order
To ensure everyone has a good experience, we have some simple rules. The site must be quiet between 23:00 and 07:00. This often suits anglers as they want to get up early and get out to the water when the sun rises. The barrier is closed to traffic during the same period (22:30 – 07:00), so if you plan to drive out to a distant fishing spot very early, park your car outside the barrier the night before.
Booking
As our cabins are popular with anglers and tourists alike, we recommend booking well in advance, especially in high season and around holidays like Easter when sea trout fishing peaks. You can easily book your cabin online.
