A child-friendly campsite close to beach and city
When traveling with children, location is key. You don’t want to spend half the day on transportation, you want to spend your time experiencing something. Kerteminde Camping is known for its fantastic location. We’re just 75 meters from the water’s edge to the North Beach, which is known for being extremely child-friendly. Here the water is shallow, the sand is soft and the waves are rarely rough. This makes it a safe place for the little ones to nap and build sandcastles, while older children can swim and play in the water.
The beach acts as a natural extension of the campsite. This means you can easily pop down for a morning swim, go home for lunch and then head down again in the afternoon. It’s a great freedom when you have children with you, not having to pack the car to get to the water.
At the same time, we are only 1500 meters from the center of Kerteminde. It’s a manageable walk – even for short legs or with a stroller. The walk into town is pleasant, and once there, one of Funen’s friendliest market towns awaits with cobbled streets, exciting shops and great places to eat. The combination of the tranquillity of the campsite and the vibrant city life makes us an ideal choice for families who want a bit of everything.

If you don’t have your own caravan or just want a little more comfort, our cabins are a popular option. We offer different types of cabins (A, B and C), so there’s something for every need and budget. Our Type A cabins are particularly popular with families with children as they offer extra comfort with their own shower and toilet and kitchen facilities. This makes everyday life a little easier when it’s time to make porridge in the morning or if the little ones need a shower after a long day at the beach.

We focus on creating a safe environment for the children. This means, among other things, that we have rules to keep the campsite quiet at night and that the barrier is closed to cars during the night hours. This gives parents peace of mind that there is no unnecessary traffic after dark.
The area around the campsite also invites you to spend active days. A walk along the beach, a bike ride in the Funen countryside or perhaps a game of mini golf nearby? The possibilities are endless. Kerteminde is not just a city; it’s a destination filled with experiences. When you stay with us, you have it all right in your backyard. Funen is generally known for its many manor houses and beautiful landscapes, and from Kerteminde you can easily take day trips to the rest of the island. Practical information for families with children
When traveling with children, it’s the practicalities that make the holiday go smoothly. At Kerteminde Camping, we do our best to facilitate an easy vacation. Our reception is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, where we are always ready to help you with questions or advice on excursions.
We have clear rules for quiet on site between 23:00 and 07:00. This ensures that both children and adults can get a good night’s sleep and be fresh for the next day’s adventure. The barrier is closed to traffic between 22:30 and 07:00, which minimizes noise and increases safety.
Should you need to wash clothes or cook, we have facilities for this. We are constantly working to improve and modernize our service buildings, so you will always find good conditions. After the fire in 2025, we are in the process of rebuilding and we look forward to presenting state-of-the-art facilities that are expected to be ready for Easter 2026. Until then, we will of course provide well-functioning solutions.
Take the dog on a family vacation
For many families, the dog is a full-fledged member of the pack, and of course the four-legged friend should come along on vacation too. At Kerteminde Camping we are a dog-friendly campsite. Your dog is welcome both at the campsite and in our cabins for a small fee.
However, we do have a few rules to make sure it’s nice for everyone to be here: Dogs must always be kept on a short leash on the campsite and walking must take place outside the campsite area.
